I married the love of my life (Donna) in 1977. At that time I had a full time job with Fraser Paper in Madawaska. My wife and I received the Lord as Savior in the early 1980’s. We got involved in a small Bible believing church and eventually were introduced to Camp Good News by Pastor Dick and his wife Marie Goupille. We volunteered for 20 or so years with our hearts filled with overflowing love for those children who came to camp. In 2000, John Romano asked if I would consider serving at camp in a full time position as program director. Seeking the Lord’s will we said yes to God’s call. We came on staff full time in June of 2003; I as the program director and my wife as office secretary and in charge of the kitchen. A greater responsibility was given to me in “2018” when I became the camp director. After all these years, I still love camp, the volunteers who serve with us, and the children God entrusts to our care. One of my favorite verses is found in Galatians 6:9, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
To God be the Glory.

From Donna:
My husband and I moved to Camp Good News in 2003. Roger worked as a foreman in a paper mill before God called him to serve full time at camp. Shortly before we came to camp, John Romano asked if I would be the CEF secretary for the state office. This position gave me the opportunity to learn more about the different aspects of Child Evangelism Fellowship. Working full time was a stretch for me seeing as I was a 45 year old “retired” kinda gal. I did adjust and it has been a very fulfilling position which included for many years being in charge of the kitchen, cooking and shopping for retreats, and many other responsibilities. I was definitely stretched but God’s grace has been sufficient for me. In 2018, Sarah Brown took over my position in the kitchen and that has been a blessing to me. Soon I will be going to part time work, still as the CEF state office secretary and taking care of my first grandbaby on a regular basis. I look forward to what God has in store for me in the future. My life verse has been “Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart: for consider what great things He has done for you” (I Samuel 12:24).
