We have been given the amazing opportunity to serve the Lord at Blueberry Mountain Bible Camp this summer. Katherine worked at Blueberry Mountain from 2016 to 2021 as a volunteer and then as an intern. John worked there as an intern for only a couple of weeks in 2021 as most of his time was spent serving at Camp Good News.
This will be our first year serving at camp together as a married couple and we couldn’t be more excited! This summer we will have new roles and responsibilities. In the past, we have worked as counselors, kitchen staff, and maintenance workers. This year we will be working to assist the volunteers who are in those positions. Though the camp's primary focus is on the children and ministering to them, it is also important that the staff be encouraged and supported during their time on the mountain. This will be our focus. John, with Katherine’s help, will be responsible for three staff devotionals. This will include preparing and presenting a short message from scripture and praying for the staff and children. Katherine will lead the arts and crafts classes every day. Both of us will not only assist the staff in their camp positions but will also be there for them emotionally and spiritually. The author of the book of Hebrews said “…let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together…but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” This is our goal — to encourage and be encouraged as we serve together with fellow believers.
